Travelling to Cyprus from Category C countries for business / professional purposes

By virtue of the Infectious Diseases Decree (No.30) of 2020, individuals entering into the Republic of Cyprus from Category C countries are allowed to enter into the Republic of Cyprus for the purpose of implementing public projects or for any other business purposes provided that they have obtained a prior approval by the Committee which has been appointed by the Council of Minister on the 17th June 2020. These individuals are subject to the following conditions:

1. If the period of stay in the Republic of Cyprus does not exceed 4 (four) days:
 
  • The said individuals shall undergo a molecular examination of the COVID-19 disease, unless they present a negative RT-PCR test certificate for COVD-19, undertaken within 72 hours prior to their departure.
  • If the molecular examination is carried out upon their arrival, these individuals shall, until the examination result is out, remain in places of compulsory isolation.
  • If the individuals are tested positive to the COVID-19 they shall remain in a state of compulsory isolation of 14 days subject to the medical protocol of the Ministry of Health.
  • The said individuals shall take precautionary and self-protection measures in the place where they are staying.
 
2. If the period of stay in the Republic of Cyprus exceeds 4 (four) days:
 
  • Such individuals are subject to a molecular examination for the COVID-19 examination, unless they present a negative RT-PCR test certificate for COVD-19, undertaken within 72 hours prior to their departure.
  • If the molecular examination is carried out upon their arrival, these individuals shall remain in places of compulsory isolation until the examination result is out.
  • If the individuals are tested positive to the COVID-19 disease, they shall remain in as state of compulsory isolation of 14 days, subject to the medical protocol of the Ministry of Health, and
  • These individuals shall remain in a state of self-isolation for 14 days.
 
Lastly, it is highlighted that all individuals intending to travel to the Republic of Cyprus are obliged to file an application for the CyprusFlightPass within 24 hours prior to their departure flight.
 
Concluding remark
Despite the widespread outbreak, business travel has not come to an absolute standstill as those individuals wishing to visit Cyprus for a business/professional purpose, may come to Cyprus for a period of 4 (four) days without having to go into compulsory isolation, assuming that a prior approval has been granted and the above conditions are satisfied.
